Amandeep Chadha, M.D.
Dr. Chadha obtained his degree at the Government Medical College in Patiala, India. He did his internal medicine residency at University of North Dakota, ND. Dr. Chadha is a Utah State Medical Board Physician and a staff nephrologist at the Kidney and Hypertension Institute of Utah. He takes care of complex inpatient and outpatient Nephrology patients including providing dialysis services to local dialysis units and local area hospitals. His responsibilities included but were not limited to management of complex Nephrology patients with acute kidney injury, renal transplant and end stage renal disease patients management. Dr. Chadha has previously worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs in New Mexico and North Dakota on outpatient clinic panels of complex patients who have chronic illnesses e.g. Diabetes, Coronary artery disease, Chronic kidney disease, High blood pressure and Chronic pain syndrome to name a few. He is excited to be able to support the Dialysis Center and take clinic here at Bear Lake Memorial Hosptial.
Ryan McDonald, M.D.
Dr. McDonald is a superb physician who has outstanding nephrology training from LSU in New Orleans. He completed his residency in internal medicine and served as chief resident at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Dr. McDonald is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nephrology. During his training he received several awards, the most notable are Outstanding Fellow and Resident of the Year. His selection for Chief Resident was fostered by his dedication to patient care, commitment to educational development of medical students and residents, academic excellence, and foremost his leadership capabilities. He was also directly involved in the recovery efforts during and after Hurricane Katrina. Prior to beginning his medical education, he served an LDS mission in Asuncion, Paraguay where he became fluent in Spanish. He enjoys using his second language as much as possible to help patients of Latin heritage. In the last five years, his academic activities have included presentations for the American College of Physicians and the Southern Society of Young Investigators. He recently was invited to present his research on the effects of job stress on hypertension at the annual meeting for the National Kidney Foundation. His clinical interests are high blood pressure, dialysis, sl0w continuous ultra-filtration for heart failure, and the relationship between diabetes and kidney disease.
Brandon Bomsta, DO
Dr. Bomsta is excited to be back in Bear Lake with his wife and four children. He grew up in the valley and graduated from Bear Lake High School. He continued school to earn his Bachelor and Master degrees from Brigham Young University, and finally his medical degree from Des Moines University. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine through Ohio University at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He became board certified in emergency medicine while working for Genesis Healthcare System, a level III trauma center, in Zanesville, Ohio. He is now back home and looks forward to providing care here at Bear Lake Memorial’s Emergency Department.
Flint Jacobson, ACAGNP/FNP
Flint grew up in Montpelier his parents are Rod and Peggy Jacobson. Rod was the administrator of the hospital while he was growing up and was introduced to different healthcare occupations. After graduating from Bear Lake High School Flint moved to Salt Lake City and worked as a phlebotomist at LDS hospital. He continued working at IMED in Murray when it opened. He went to SLCC for nursing school in 2011 and then continued working at IMED as an ER nurse at the trauma one center. Flint went back to school for his bachelor’s at Western Governors University in 2016 and then in 2019 for his Nurse Practitioner degree.
He moved and took a position as a dual-role program Acute Care Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner/Family Nurse Practitioner at The University of South Alabama (USA) in Mobile, Alabama. In the Spring of 2021, Flint’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and started treatment in SLC and they decided to move back to Montpelier to be closer to family. Flint was able to finish his clinical training here at Bear Lake Memorial. He graduated from USA in May and began work as an ACAGNP/FNP in Urgent Care.
Flint and his family are all so happy here and glad they made the difficult decision to move. They have 3 boys, William 22 lives in Koos Bay Oregon, Rivers 12, and Beckett 10. They also have a Pursian cat named Marilynn and recently welcomed a goldendoodle puppy named Niko into their family. Flint appreciates the care he and his family recieves at BLMH. His wife is in remission and is doing well. They love the outdoors and know the Bear Lake Valley is a great fit for their future.
Alex Carr, FNP-BC
Alex Carr was born in Montpelier, Idaho and is a graduate of Idaho State University. He obtained his master’s degree at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. His program involved education in Family Practice. His preceptorship locations included urgent cares, internal medicine clinics, and family practices offices. Currently, he is working closely with Dr. Jepsen M.D. as an orthopedic surgical assist at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.
Alex provided over 8 years of nursing before becoming a board-certified nurse practitioner. Over those years his main focuses involved wound-care, emergency medicine, and acute care. As a nurse, he achieved multiple daisy awards, which is an award granted to nurses based on their ability to provide extraordinary compassionate care to patients. Throughout his nursing profession he held certifications for BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NRP which all increased his ability and knowledge to provide safe and competent care to his patients.
In his spare time Alex loves spending time with his wife and 7-month-old daughter enjoying everything Bear Lake County has to offer including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and camping.
Dorian Grunig, CRNA
Dorian was raised and graduated from High School in Montpelier, ID. He along with his wife Angela and three children have lived in Montpelier since December of 2004. Dorian attended the School of Anesthesia in Middle Tennessee where he graduated with a Master Degree in Science with an emphasis in Anesthesia.
Jake Lufkin, CRNA
Jake was born and raised in Rigby Idaho. After graduating with his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from BYU-Idaho he received his Masters of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Wolford College. He started his anesthesia career in Indiana and moved to Montpelier in 2018. Jake and his family are excited to live and work in the Bear Lake Valley.

Anya Anthony, MSPA PA-C
Anya obtained her P.A. graduate degree from Western University in Pomona, California. Prior to moving to Bear Lake, she worked at a Community Clinic in California for four years. After having a positive experience with a physician’s assistant in an emergency room and doing some research on the position, Anya knew that’s what she really wanted to do. She went back to school, while still working full time and raising a family, to earn her degree. Anya feels she has a lot to offer the community by providing a variety of health services. Benjamin Olson, DO
Dr. Olson is a graduate of Bear Lake High School where he graduated in 1997. After serving a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Monterrey, Mexico Dr. Olson attended college at Idaho State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2003. He then pursued his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri where he graduated in 2007. Dr. Olson then furthered his training by completing a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Affinity Medical Center an Ohio University affiliate, in Massillon Ohio. He served as chief resident for his residency from 2011-2012. For his exceptional performance Dr. Olson was awarded a year of fellowship where he pursued additional training in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. In 2013 during his fellowship, he served as an associate team physician for the New Mexico Lobos. Following graduation from fellowship, Dr. Olson moved to La Grande, Oregon where he had the honor of practicing as an orthopedic surgeon at Grande Ronde Hospital for the last 11 years. Dr. Olson has 17 years of orthopedic experience and enjoys providing his patients with the most advanced and up to date care. He has special interests in arthroscopic joint preservation of the shoulder and knee as well as joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee. Dr. Olson has extensive experience with anterior total hip arthroplasty and is excited to offer this to the Bear Lake Valley. Dr. Olson is experienced with the utilization of robotic technology in joint replacement surgery. This technology facilitates a pre-planned patient specific approach to surgery, allowing customization of joint replacement to your unique anatomy. Dr. Olson’s goal of incorporating robotics in joint replacement is to improve precision, with a customized and balanced approach, as he seeks improved outcomes for his patients. With his experience in fracture care, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement surgery, Dr. Olson is well suited to provide for the orthopedic needs of the Bear Lake Valley. Dr. Olson is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Outside of medicine, Dr. Olson enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel and their 3 children. Brian Retherford, Gyn Surgeon
Dr. Brian S. Retherford, MD is a Board- Certified OB/GYN physician. He offers a full spectrum of office gynecology and surgical gynecology services, including minimally invasive and robotic procedures. Dr. Retherford attended Michigan State University for both undergraduate education and medical school. He then completed a four-year OB/GYN residency program at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base. Following his residency, he worked as an active-duty OB/Gyn physician. Upon honorable discharge from the Air Force, he set up a private practice in California, where he practiced for the next seven years. He then joined Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas, WY where he remained for the past thirteen years before moving to Bear Lake County He would now like to focus exclusively on his primary passion, gynecological surgery. His family includes his wife, Lindsey, and their five children along with their beloved dog. His wife is a longtime peri-operative nurse who loves taking care of patients. In their spare time, they enjoy many outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and water sports. They love the outdoors and are excited to begin exploring all the natural beauty Bear Lake has to offer.
Peter M. Crane, M.D.
Dr. Crane started his Medical Practice on the campus of Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in September of 2011. Dr. Crane is a Bear Laker. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1997. He went on to graduate from Brigham Young University in microbiology. He received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Utah. He completed his family medicine residency at Ball Memorial Family Medicine Residency in Indiana and held the Chief Resident position. Dr. Crane has made several medical service trips providing healthcare to people in Ecuador, Kenya, Mexico, and Uganda. He enjoys snowmobiling, skiing, backpacking, and trail running, and also helps operate a small farm. One of his greatest passions is taking care of his patients. I love to help people find answers and get on the right path to good health and happiness. Dr. Crane’s practice focuses on family health, including pediatrics and OB services. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
Houston Reynolds, MD
Doctor Houston Reynolds was born and raised in Provo Utah. He went to Timpview High School where he participated heavily in sports including football, basketball, and baseball. He was awarded multiple honors including being named to the Elite 11 and receiving All-State honors all 4 years of high school. He was recruited heavily out of high school and ultimately accepted a scholarship offer to play for Brigham Young University. After graduating from Timpview with a 4.0 GPA he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Frankfurt Germany. While at BYU, he received multiple honors including All Mountain West Conference, Academic All American, Offensive Line Captain, and was nominated for several awards recognizing athletic and academic achievement including the Scholar-Athlete award and the BYU Kimball Award. Dr. Reynolds football career came to an abrupt halt after a devastating injury ultimately prevented him from returning to the sport. It was at this time he decided to pursue a career in medicine. Focused on his education he went on to graduate from BYU with honors cum laude with a 3.95 GPA. Dr. Reynolds attended the University of Utah School of Medicine graduating in 2020. He completed his residency in Nampa Idaho from Full Circle Health-The Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in 2023. He was trained in Rural, Family, and Preventative Medicine with a special focus in Sports Medicine. He was also trained broadly in inpatient hospital medicine, emergency medicine, frontier medicine, preventative medicine, palliative care, hospice, pediatrics obstetrics, geriatrics, upper and lower endoscopy & colonoscopies, dermatology and sports medicine. He met his wife Kimmy while attending BYU. She is an accomplished ballroom dancer and won both national and world championships while on the BYU Ballroom Dance Team. Dr Reynolds and his wife were married in 2013. They have two children, Tait who is 3 years old, and Knox who was born at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in August.
Trevor Jacobson, M.D.
Dr. Jacobson is practicing at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital Internal Medicine Clinic. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Medical Degree, and Family Medicine Specialty Degree all at the University of Utah. He is Board Certified as a Family Practice Physician with experience in pediatrics, sports medicine, weight loss management, women’s health, mental health, addiction, and disease prevention. Dr. Jacobson is the son of Kevin and Brenda Jacobson of Ovid. He is excited to raise his family in the beautiful Bear Lake Valley.

Jennifer Felter FNP-C
Jennifer received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah in 2011 and is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine and as a Hospitalist during her time as a Nurse Practitioner. Jennifer’s experience in Emergency Medicine eventually resulted in her focusing entirely on Emergency Medicine and leaving her Family Practice Clinic. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer worked as an Emergency RN at a Trauma II Hospital, as well as working in Rural Medicine for several years. After working in a rural environment as a nurse, Jennifer decided she wanted to advance her career and provide medical services to people in these rural areas which lead to her becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She has 25 combined years of Emergency Medicine experience that helps her provide the care needed to the varied patients that present in the Emergency Department.
Jennifer is married and has two children. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

Kerry Jepsen, M.D.
Dr. Jepsen is a general Orthopedic Surgeon with special interest in sports medicine and an extensive background in major trauma. He completed his military service as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany before coming to BLMH in 2009. He was the Chief of Orthopedic Services while at Landstuhl Regional.
Dr. Jepsen has family ties to Southeastern Idaho and lives near his parents in the Mink Creek area with his wife and eight children.
He completed his Orthopedics residency in 2001 at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas and received his Medical Degree from Uniform Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Jepsen’s military medical career took him first to Osan Air Base, Korea, and then to Germany. Dr. Jepsen brings a broad range of orthopedic experience to the Bear Lake Valley.
Khristina Meissner, D.O.
Dr. Meissner studied at the University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine & earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Midway College in Kentucky. She is from Waynesville, North Carolina & with a lifelong desire to live in the West, moved to Idaho for her Residency. Kasey Ward, DNP
Kasey is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Idaho State University in 2022 and has been a Registered Nurse since 2013. She has served in a variety of roles including Acute Care, Emergency Medicine, Home Health and Hospice. She is a Southeast Idaho native and recently moved to Montpelier from Malad. Kasey and her husband have four children and she enjoys spending time with her family, hunting, fishing, and skiing.
